Sun Above, Moon Below

Description

This picture commemorates the first time I ever saw a sunfish. It was an incredibly windy day and we’ve been out on the water looking for sharks for more than 2 hours without any success. Suddenly, just a couple of meters next to our small nutshell of a boat, a huge school of sunfish surface and I managed to stick my camera into the water at just the right time to take this very special photo. Sunfish are very careful and easily scared so jumping in the water wasn’t an option. After about 30seconds, they took off again and left me with this beautiful photo.

The photos name might seem confusing in English but it actually makes sense in German, since I am from Germany. The German word for sunfish is „Mondfisch“ („moonfish“) which is very confusing and doesn’t make a lot of sense
